The SeriesStarting in November 2007, Embalming is a series serialized monthly in Jump Square.
On a dark and stormy night, Fury, Ras, and Edel's family are attacked by a "monster" and killed. Fury grabs the sick Edel in his arms, and tells Ras to escape with him- at which Ras refuses since he says that he isn't afraid of death. To make sure the fire from the carriage doesn't go out, Fury throws in his family's suitcase and tells him to stay put until he brings help. After saving Edel he goes back for him, and convinces him that his life is his own and to live. Fury vows to take revenge for the monster who killed his family.
Five years later, Fury finds him once again, ready for a showdown with Ras, who is only there to find out the true nature of the monster. Unfortunately, the monster also drew, and after some fighting, Ras gets torn apart and Fury performs his last attack on the monster- then blanks out. Waking up in a bed a month later, he finds a slutty female doctor, Peaberry. When he questions her, she tells him that the monster he was fighting was a Frankenstein created by a Victor Frankenstein more than a 150 years ago. Victor had found a way to use dead bodies to make "humans" (monsters really). The only way to know if they are a Frankenstein or not would be due to the electrodes on their chest. Fury, deciding that he has heard enough, leaves back to Edel's mansion to break the news about Ras.
When Fury mentions to Edel about Ras, she tells him that Ras has been waiting for him (he's not dead =/). Fury, sure of what he saw, breaks open Ras's shirt and finds electrode placement there- Ras is a Frankenstein....
